A brief quote from my new book –

I was re-reading it just now and really liked this paragraph. Wondered if i really wrote it.

He was searching for the missing elements: a story, an excuse, a scapegoat, something that could justify itself. People always wanted to know what had caused this or that thing; always wanted to be given the reason. No explanation would do, but they wanted one anyhow, and would badger you until you’d invented one for them.
